Summary

2.5X, 3.5X or 4.5X magnification.  34cm or 42cm working distance.

Fixed to a spectacle frame (i.e. the spectacle frame is included). The spectacle lenses are plain, no prescription, though you could get your optician to make lenses to correct for astigmatism.

Comments

Instead of 'simple' lenses, these lenses are, in effect, two very high quality (tiny) telescopes. which means:

  • a combination of magnification with a long working distance (42 or 34cm).
  • Sit (or stand) at a comfortable distance from the object
  • No need to get close (3 or 4 inches with a standard magnifier) - comfortable for carrying out repairs.

This is the type used by dentists and surgeons, exceptionally high quality. It the photo you see Diana selecting a tiny watch screw from a box of screws (we didn't have an open watch movement to photograph!) - but you could use it for anything, PCBs, tiny jewellery repairs, miniature-painting...
