Summary
Full-size table balance.
Approved by Trading Standards for use in trade. That means you can use this for weighing precious metals when buying by weight. Approved for use anywhere, not limited by location (as are the older models of approved balances).
1500g / 0.01g when used for your own information, away from customers
1500g / 0.1g when used in front of customers for buying precious metals (it will still give a reading to 0.001g, you're meant to ignore the last decimal place and only use it for weighing to the nearest 0.1g)
Battery or mains (takes standard AA batteries)
Compact lightweight yet sturdy
Superior overload protection, you'd have to weigh 15,000g before it breaks (very difficult to do, though not impossible!)
Can be used anywhere, a calibration weight is built into the balance,
Guarantee, one year

Additional features
PARTS-COUNTING: weigh 20 (or 50 or 100) identical small items, now when you pile the items onto the weighing platform it will display the number of items rather than the weight.
PERCENTAGE: weigh one item, now when you weigh each item it will tell how much it weighs relative to the sample, e.g. 5% heavier, e.g. 4% lighter.
CHECK-WEIGHING: set a lower limit (e.g. 95g), set a higher limit (e.g. 105g), now when you weigh each item, you will see a circle if the weighing is within the limits (in this example, between 95g and 105g), you will see a down-arrow if the weight is too low (in this example, under 95g), you will see an up-arrow if the weight is too high (in this example, over 105g)
TOTALIZE: as you add items to the pile, the display will show the weight of the added items and also the total weight.
MODE: you can decide which of the above functions can be accessed by pressing MODE, so that you are not confused by lots of functions you never use.
PRINTING / LOGGING: you can connect the balance to a computer, supports RS232, USB Host, USB Device, Ethernet, Bluetooth. IMPORTANT: computer functions are not supported by QUICKTEST, please ask a computer expert or contact the manufacturers, Ohaus.
BACKLIGHT: can be set to always-off, always-on, or on only whilst weighing.
