Would this be good for viewing nematodes (just for checking viability before introducing to soil)? Otherwise could you please recommend. Thanks.

Probably.

According to Wikipedia they measure “anywhere from 0.1 millimetres to over 3 feet”. I’d guess that the problem might be if they were too large rather than too small.

0.1mm, no problem. 2 or 3mm, too large, use a good quality loupe instead.
