Guarantee

10 years. This covers manufacturing faults only, it excludes normal wear and tear, bowls, trays, finishes, clasps, hinges, feet, AC adaptors and batteries; it also excludes being overloaded / dropped (e.g. error messages EEE, 0-Ld, or OUEr). The guarantee is invalid if the scale shows signs of foreign material (e.g. residues of herbs, chemicals, corrosion,  spilt tea).  After 1 year you must pay the postage both ways; also (after 1 year) allow time for it to go back to the supplier for evaluation.

Inaccurate readings can be fixed by calibrating the scale, this is something that is very easy for you to do yourself with a 2Kg weight (not supplied).  Giving inaccurate readings does not mean the scale is broken - all electronic measuring devices need calibrating every now and again, see calibrating weighing machines.
