About 1.2X magnification. A cylinder of plastic, rest it on the page, slide it down (e.g. a page of a paperback book). The overall length is 210mm (8 inches), magnification is about 1.5X, and it has a guide-line to stop the eye from wandering, particularly good for dyslexics. There is an extra (circular) magnifier which gives 6X magnification.
