These LUXI polishes are 'clean', they are water-based, they do not stain everything red (as does jewellers rouge), they are used extensively in jewellery workshops, they are also good for removing scratches in glass or 'cleaning up' badly corroded antiques. Although I say they are for 'professional' use, you really do not have to work in a workshop to use them! But you will need a polishing motor (we don't supply these) and a selection of polishing mops (we sell two basic mops) and you will need to know how to polish metal. If you feel the need to telephone to say, "I want to polish something, what do I do?" then these are not for you.To read an article about polishing, click here More... I prefer rouge in block form because this is how we used it in the Polishing Shop in jewellers workshop, you wait until the polishing wheel is spinning (a soft cotton buff), hold the block of rouge against it, the rouge is very soft and comes off onto the buff.Another tip: to polish fine scratches in glass (nothing too deep, eg if you can feel it with your fingernail it's too deep) smeer it onto a fresh very clean very soft buff on a polishing motor and polish gently on a very slow speed. This is how it is used in the Motor Windsrean Industry, so it should work on glass cabinets too.For more tips about polishing and removing scratches click herePeople who bought this item also bought:

Enough powder for poishing many watch 'crystals'.For soft materials such as acrylic (used in the aircraft industry for polishing acrylic cockpit canopies, perhaps more useful for 'watch crystals' or clock domes). Minimum 75g.Mix with water into a paste the consistency of double cream, you can rub it on by hand using a soft cloth but it's easier using a small cotton buff on a motor. This is the FINEST polishing compound, it will remove scuffs and very fine scratches, it will NOT remove any scratch deep enough to feel with your fingernail.
