Jewellers Loupes from £20.00 upwards
10X18 loupe
Ref: 10X18C
Large lens size, exceptional quality, image is sharp and crisp to the very edge, matt black, folds into metal case, good for gemstones / diamonds, forged coins etc, For a rellatively large lens this is my personal favourite (though for pure quality I prefer the smaller 10X12 4-element (see Jewellers Loupes, under £20.00).
Physical size (mm): 27X20 X20 (deep)
Also Wholesale
Price: £17.02 / $27.23

Quantity:
10X21 loupe
Ref: 10X21C
Largest of the 10X loupes.
Personally, I don't see that there's anything to be gained by increasing the lens size to 21mm, it makes the loupe
heavy to carry in the pocket and (unlike smaller lenses) the image quality drops off at the edges. I must concede, however, that some people LIKE to have the largest lens possible, and if that is what they are comfortable with, then a 10X21 is a good choice.

Quantity:
10X13 by Zeiss loupe
Ref: ZEISS10
If you want the clearest image AND for the loupe to end up small and lightweight...then Zeiss really are the best you can buy. Whether it is worth spending more than twice as much as the next best magnifier is a decision I can't help you with!
Price: £55.32 / $88.51

Quantity:
Zeiss double loupe
Ref: ZEISSCOMB
Double loupe: 6X20 and 4X20, combined they make 10X20.
If you want a combination of the largest lens and clearest image AND light weight...then this Zeiss really is the best you can buy. It is the only example of a large 10X lens that does not show any distortion at all around the edge.
Whenever I get a sample of a REALLY good quality loupe, I immediately compare it with one of these in the hope that I have found something better - but it has never happened, this Zeiss is still the best! The only downside is the price, and I must admit I don't use one of these myself because I won't risk loosing or damaging an £85.00 loupe. But if you are careful and money is no object and you want the best - then this is the one to go for.

Quantity:
15X21 triplet loupe
Ref: 15X21
The 15X gives an impressively clear image in the centre, though there is some noticeable distortion around the edges - but really not bad for a 15X of this size. This is a good choice if you must have something stronger than 10X with the largest lens though, personally, I prefer a good 10X.

10X12 4-element loupe, clips to spectacles
Ref: 10x12-clipon-dup
I've taken our very best quality jewellers loupe (my personal favourite for quality): the 10X12 4-element (that's better than a 'triplet') - and I've re-engineered it so that it will clip to the side of spectacles. The result is better than the best watchmaker's eyeglass.
At 10X magnification this IS intended for inspection purposes rather than 'working with', since the working distance is too close for using standard watchmaking tools. Whilst I use a standard 3.5X magnification (see Watchmakers Eyeglasses) for working with watches, I find this ideal for inspecting the balance wheels after I've made an adjustment.

20X21 loupe
Ref: 20X21-r
With a steady hand and careful focusing this 20X is quite useable, giving a reasonably clear image in the centre of the lens. This is the 'biggest' loupe - largest lens diameter with most powerful magnification. My own opinion is that the effort of trying to keep it in focus makes this a no-no (and, believe me, this is GOOD for a 20X21!). However, if someone has told you to buy them the largest possible 20X, then don't argue with them, just buy them this one.
Incidentally, I have seen an identical-looking loupe for sale at some of the London fairs at a fraction of this price and the quality seems to be OK. How so? Answer: although it's clearly labelled "20X" it's actually about 9X magnification. The same people have a HUGE 10X, also for a remarkably cheap price. How so? Although it's clearly labelled "10X" it's actually about 6X magnification.

30X18 loupe
Ref: 30X18
Customers would often telephone to ask if I had a 30X and I would say that they were very difficult to find and they would say they've seen one. Then I would say that 30X was too strong and they would say that's the strength they want, and also it must have a large lens. And I would say a large-lens 30X would be difficult to focus and would be expensive and they would say that's OK. And I would say they will have to hold it almost-touching the object and they would say OK.
So in the end I felt obliged to find one, and here it is, the most powerful loupe on the market with the best quality lens I could find. Happy focusing!

10X18 with 20X12 loupe
Ref: 10X18/20X12
The best quality 10X with the best quality 20X.
Incidentally, I have seen an identical-looking loupe for sale at some of the London fairs at a fraction of this price. OK. How so? Answer: one lens is clearly labelled "20X" but is actually about 9X magnification (and the image is so wavy it's useless), the other lens is marked 10X but is actually about 6X...AND I have been offered the same from a reputable supplier (they sell them for £17.95 - I do have one of these, if you visit us at a fair please ask to see one so that you can compare it with the the genuine item.

Fully adjustable, two stems tilt / swivel / lock, use it up high (maximum 11 inches) for fixed objects such as vases or lower it for flat objects that can rest on the workbench. The largest, strongest magnifier on a stand, high quality triplet lens, an alternative to a low-power microscope for working on miniatures, watches etc. Also good as an inspection magnifier for electronics, lower the magnifier close to the table, pass the items underneath with both hands.
