Diamond Tester (standard Thermal Detector type)

This is the most reliable diamond tester, quickest warm-up time (4 to 6 seconds), quickest response time (about 1 second).
This is one of the few testers that can cope with diamond-set jewellery in the cold of a British winter, e.g. early morning markets or un-heated halls. It is also one of the few that can test rough (uncut) stones in the field, e.g. in the heat of the tropics.

Comments: Everyone asks me, "Does it work?" Yes, of course it works! But I must admit, some customers return these, they are vague about the fault, they say they're not 'happy' with it, and most of the time we can't find any fault at all.

Moissanite Tester

Moissanite is a synthetic gemstone that reads 'diamond' on diamond testers. Moissanite requires a special Moissanite Tester' in addition to a diamond tester. Similar in operation to the Diamond testers though it works on an entirely different principle.
Dimensions: 6"X2"X1"
Power: one PP3 battery
Comments: providing you clean the stone well (e.g. with a cotton bud and alcohol - wiping it on your shirt isn't good enough) and providing you are certain to place the probe in the middle of the stone (requires good eye sight and a steady hand) then this tester shouldn't present any problems. It is far easier to use one of these plus a seperate diamond tester than the combined DN1 tester.

Will test stones down to 4pts. This is the most reliable diamond / Moissanite tester.
