These test for a manmade stone called Moissanite (first 'invented' about five years ago). The only significance of Moissanite is that it registers 'diamond' on diamond testers. There are also machine that test for both diamonds and Moissanite ('combination' testers). All of these will test stones down to 5 points in size (providing you have good eyesight and a steady hand). .
