Second hand heavy duty tripod. It looks quite small in the picture. It isn't - it's 8Kg.

HEIGHT: Closed 115cm (45in), extended: 168cm (66in)

CONSTRUCTION: aluminium

MOUNT: open 'slot' - see photos. Mount not quite right for you? We have a similar tripod with a different mount.

Discount if you collect this from us (WD18 8PH) - because this is so large we will have to build a box for it!

Why?

Q. This item is discontinued.  Why?

A. This is a secondhand item, left over from the days I sold giant (mostly ex-wartime) binoculars.  Its weight would also make it a good sturdy tripod for an astronomical telescope. I no longer sell giant binoculars, I have no use for giant tripods.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What plate does it take? Would it take a heavy 8x10 camera? Thanks

The top of the plate measures 85mm (to the inside of the slots) X 100mm long. I don't know what the fitting is on your camera, but you would have to make yourself a plate 85X100 with a screw-thread on the top to match the camera. You then screw the camera to the thread, slide the plate into the mount, and it locks with the lever - identical system to the 'lock' on tripods for SLR cameras. Although this involves some work, it's very easy for an engineer to do, just give them the camera and tripod.
