As far as testing is concerned, the Testerossa is identical to the Ultratester 3+. including the same limitations, so please see the Ultratester 3+ for details.
This is how it differs from the Ultratester 3+::
- It has a larger carrying case than with the Ultratester 3+
- It comes with a charging dock. Simply rest the tester in the dock to charge the batteries. This saves you from having to plug a cable into the tester.*
- Included is a magnifier that can be clipped to the end of the tester to enable you to see the stone more clearly.
- In addition to the display (the same as the Ultratester 3+) it speaks the results out loud. This is good for reassuring a customer (who can't see the display), or if you really don't want anyone to hear (e.g. checking stones at an auction viewing) you can turn the voice off.
* You do, of course, have to plug the charging dock into the mains.

Alternatives
Please note, none of the testers listed below will distinguish natural stones from synthetic stones. "Synthetic" is a scientific term meaning 'made by man in a factory/laboratory to the same formula found in nature'. The two are usually indistinguishable, synthetic diamond is diamond (read about synthetic diamond testers and see our ARI and ARETE models).
The testers below are to distinguish diamond from non-diamond (simulant/imitation).
