3.5X magnification, 58mm diameter, illuminated (batteries included)

Built-in very bright LED light.

Comfortable to grip and slide over the page in any direction, Eschenbach say that this is unique in being the most powerful reading magnifier for its size.

I would use this as a test-lens (along with the Makrolux) to see if someone with very severe sight problems can use a magnifier, if they can't see the print through this, they might need to move to consider a digital magnifier.

Magnification / lens size in mm: 3.5X55

Field of view: Vertically about seven lines. Horizontally about four words.

Lens material: plastic

Origin / brand: from Eschenbach, Germany

Presentation / extras: a padded zip case

Power: three AA batteries

Applications / Quality

Generally, readers are for reading text, they are designed to rest on the page, to save you the effort of holding it above the text (which is very tiring if you're reading an entire book.) It is also possible to do a small amount of writing under the lens (i.e. annotations) The two LED lights included are very bright, and turn off automatically after 30 minutes, in order to prevent the batteries running out.

Specifically, a stunningly bright and clear magnifier for the partially-sighted, and it's the largest and most powerful of its type, comfortable to hold, easy to 'glide' over the page, though you will only see a few words at a time, there is no choice about that with a magnifier of this strength.
