Method: measuring density, also known as specific gravity.

For measuring the density of solids and liquids. You don't need to know about liquids. Solids include gold and silver, especially coins. The density test involves only water, you do not have to file the coin (which you must do when using both acids and electronic testers) - read my short article about how it works.

This is a one-off product, it's a sample. It is a model still available on the internet for $4950.00 (about £4000.00) + tax. I decided not to sell these as a regular line, because I don't think my particular customers would pay this much...so I just want to get rid of the sample, and that's why it's so cheap.

Is it easy to use?

Once it is set up and you know what you're doing, each test really does take only a couple of minutes, but please do not ask, "Is it easy to use", you do have to put a little work into this. This is what to expect when you first open the box:

10 to 15mns to very carefully unpack and assemble it

20 to 30mns to study the instructions and try to work out what they mean

30mns minutes for the machine to warm up

5mns to carry out the first test (it gets quicker with practice).

I'm sure that, with practice, you could work your way through testing at the rate of 2 to 3mns per item - but be aware that this is not 'instant', you do have to work slowly and carefully.

We have tested this thoroughly and we know it works fine. However, this is a one-off product and, unlike our regular items, we cannot give after-sales support. We wouldn't know if you are setting it up correctly or using it correctly or what the readings mean for the particular item you are testing.

All equipment and materials must be used in conjunction with the user's skill, knowledge and experience. Under no circumstances shall QUICKTEST be liable for direct or indirect loss sustained in connection with any item. It is your responsibility to regularly check equipment against known samples, to ensure that it is working correctly.
