SUMMARY

Test the item in the normal way, take care to follow the instructions, test it for silver, test it for 9ct, then test it for high-carat with the Blue / 18-24ct acid. With the acid on the item, allow plenty of time (several seconds) for any colour change, soak up the stain with a strip of test paper, then place a drop of the Green acid onto the stain on the paper.
