If you have severe eye problems, see the section "Recommendations for the partially-sighted". I have not 'recommended' these two magnifiers for the partially-sighted because (as a very fussy optical dealer) I don't think the quality is good enough for general reading, you will struggle. A £5.00 or £7.50 lens simply will not give you the same sharpness as a £20.00 to £50.00 lens. But if you DON'T do a lot of reading and just need a magnifier for occasional 'help', then you may consider spending upwards of £20.00 too much.
