Of all the magnifiers suitable for the partially-sighted (for reading books, papers etc) this is by far the best, it is very nearly the best quality lens AND very nearly the most powerful AND it has a bright light (very important) AND it covers the largest reading area for a magnifier of this strength.
With optics, there is always a compromise. And the downside of this magnifier is that it is too large to carry in a pocket and it must be plugged into the mains and also it is not cheap.
If you really have tried every other magnifier and are struggling, please do buy this one. Then, if it isn't suitable, return it within 14 days for refund, then visit your doctor or optician for advice on why reading magnifiers don't work for you.
