I've taken one of the best quality jewellers loupes (my personal favourites for quality): the 10X12 4-element (that's better than a 'triplet') - and I've re-engineered it so that it will clip to the side of spectacles.
At 10X magnification this IS intended for inspection purposes rather than 'working with', since the working distance is too close for using standard watchmaking tools. Whilst I use a standard 3.5X magnification for working with watches, I find this ideal for inspecting the balance wheels after I've made an adjustment.

I've taken the largest Zeiss lens (THE actual best!) and fitted a clip so that it will fit to the side of spectacles. The clip is reversable (to fit on either side of spectacles) and also removable (to use as a standard loupe).
This is the most powerful by Zeiss, for the closest work. Do remember, that also means the shortest working distance, choose the previous item if you need enough room to work with tools.
