A portable machine for taking out into the field (or, for antiques dealers, to markets and auctions). The meter shows 'counts' up to 700cps (counts per second) and at the same time you can hear 'clicks' as it clicks each count. Supplied complete with batteries and ready to use.
The Geigers are made here in Watford, at the only manufacturer of organically-quenched Geigers in Europe/USA...and quite possibly the only one in the world!

Geiger Counter (Radiation Meter), Gem-100
Ref: Gem-100
A high quality machine sensitive to alpha and gamma radiation, and with a high sensitivity to Beta particles. There are two modes: 'ratemeter' which gives Counts Per Second (the reading is updated every 2.5 seconds) and 'scaler' which gives counts over a longer time period for greater accuracy (choose between 10, 50, 200. 1000 or 5000 seconds).
