COMMENTS: at a glance it looks just like a Zeiss...but it's not, and there are no clues as to who made it. On the cover for the tripod bush is JAPAN. There are a couple of reasons I think this is military (though I can't prove it) - firstly, it is too large and heavy to be saleable into the domestic market; secondly, it has sighting graticules, and they light up in the dark (no batteries so I assume it uses a radioactive source). As for the optical quality, just trust me, this is a bargain at £195.00! 7X50 blc [Zeiss] Ref: 804-kp Click on the picture to see another view MARKINGS: click on picture to see detail OPTICAL CONDITION: very slight dust, small black 'chip' on very edge of one prism (well out of the field of view, not visible in use), some fine scratches on one objective lens and some minor scuffs on the other. COMMENTS: blc is the German military code for Zeiss. I'm not too keen on the run-of-the-mill handheld 7X50 of this make (at lease, not for the £200.00 to £300.00 people ask for them!] but this one is unusual in that it has very large eyepieces, and it is also of exceptional optical quality.
