More powerful than the standard 10X12 that many traders buy, perhaps just a bit too powerful for hallmarks and gemstones - unless you really feal you need something this powerful. Good value, though certainly not as high quality as similar loupes for £15.00 to £20.00. People who bought this item also bought:

15X loupe seems good quality (except that I think it is a 10X rather than a 15X), I'm not sure what a jadeite filter is.

Good idea, nicely constructed (not flimsy), very effective light. My personal opinion is that the magnification is too high.
Ref: 5X50-ed-stand
Same lens as the hand-held 5X55-ed (very good quality, sells for £20.00) - this one was a sample from the same factory, but I don't like it because it LOOKS cheap!

All plastic. folds flat and fits into a plastic box 35X25X14mm. Opens to 30mm tall with a base of 23X35 and a lens diameter of 15mm. I would describe the quality of the lens as 'useable'. Or I could describe the quality of the lens as, 'good value for only £2.00'. To read an article about magnification and working distance, click here See also: Eyeglasses

Magnifier with clip, you supply the light. Main lens 4¾" (120mm) dia. approx. 1½X magnification; high-power inset 1" (25mm). approx. 4X magnification. A bit "home-made" in appearance but it works. Good if you don't feel it necessary to spend more than £5.00. Note - it is the magnifier you are buying for £5.00, you have to supply your own table light. To read an article about magnification and working distance, click here More...

30mm X 30mm lens slides out of case with distinctive 'click'. The lens is 3X magnification and is quite OK.To read an article about magnification and working distance, click here More...

Many people have asked me for a 'collapsible' watchmaker's eyeglass, and I know exactly what they mean, I have seen them, made of finely-engineered alluminium rings, and they haven't been made for a great many years. This is the closest I can find, a plastic 'copy', 3.5X magnification and complete with its little plastic box. It is the only one of its type on the market (if you have seen another, please let me know). Folded in case measures 45mm diameter X 15mm deep, handy to keep in the pocket. 12mm diameter lens, takes two AAA-size batteries.Nice little jewellers loupe with light. It is cleverly designed, you can also leave it resting on a surface and the lense will focus up and down for EXCEPTIONALLY fine work that requires two hands. The downside? It's small and it's not top quality. The upside? It's only £5.00.To read an article about magnification and working distance, click here
