You can't test powder or flakes directly (the acid merely soaks in) so sprinkle a sample onto a test plate then put the acid on.

This one is made of plastic and measures 4 X 2.5 inches, with raised sides to stop spillage.

A calibration sample is supplied with each AGT1 electronic gold tester, but they do wear out, they do get lost, you may wish to have a spare in stock.

A mains power supply is not supplied, it is an optional extra, but it will save on batteries.

The AGT1 must be calibrated each time it's turned on. If you test gold throughout the day, plug it into the mains, leave it on, then you don't need to keep calibrating it.

Normal prices: calibration sample £12.50 + power supply £19.50 = £32.00.

The ATG1 must be regularly checked (calibrated) against a sample of 14ct yellow gold - it must be YELLOW gold and it must be EXACTLY 14ct.

You do get one calibration sample free with each tester, but you may wish to buy a spare. Or if you've been using your own, and you aren't sure if it's EXACTLY 14ct, then buy one of ours.
